Bette Lucille Hofmann, lifelong
Western Slope resident, died July
9, 2014, at Colorow Care Center in
Olathe.
Bette was born September 25,
1933, to Lowell and Rachael (Stoddard)
Raine in Grand Junction,
Colorado. She spent her childhood
there and graduated from Central
High School in Grand Junction.
Bette married Edwin S. Hofmann on August 5, 1955, in Ouray, Colorado.
He preceded her in death on October 10, 2009, in Montrose.
Bette was a loving wife, mother and Nana. She loved being a homemaker
and raising her family. She enjoyed getting together with family
and friends, often sharing a glass of wine and conversation on the
patio. Her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was
special. ‘Nan’ frequently followed her grandchildren across Colorado
to sporting events, rodeos and the fair, cheering them on in their activities.
They will greatly miss their Nana. Bette also loved growing her
flowers and tending to them in her spare time. Those who knew her
will remember her for her spark of independence and the glimmer of
humor in her eyes.
Surviving family members include her sons, Mike (Nikki) Hofmann
of Billings, Montana; Pat (Robin) Hofmann of Norman, Oklahoma;
daughters, Kelly (Tabor) Sutherlin of Norwood, Colorado; Stacy (Wes)
Goza of Olathe, Colorado; brother, Larry Raine of Fruita, Colorado;
sisters, Bonnie (Rich) Percival of Olathe, Colorado; Gale Chandler
of Grand Junction, Colorado; nine grandchildren, Katie and Bailey
Hofmann; Logan Hofmann; Malisha, Taylor and Ashley Sutherlin;

preceded in death by her brother, Jack Raine, and parents, Lowell and
Rachael Hofmann.
