Edgar Allen Adams “Ed”, of
Grand Junction, CO passed away
on Wednesday, July 2, 2014.
He was born on November, 3,
1941, in Bakersfield, CA to Byron
G. Adams and Mildred Elizabeth
Hayes Adams.
Ed graduated from East Bakersfield
High School, where he first
discovered his love for and participated
in the sport of wrestling. He loved music, especially Willie
Nelson and George Strait. He had a zest for living life to the fullest and
cared deeply about family and friends.
Ed had been a resident of Grand Junction for the past 13 years and he
established and operated Prestige Plastering, a very successful business
throughout the Colorado area. In the early years, Ed enjoyed working
for the Shirtz Orange Ranch and other lathe and plaster companies in
the Bakersfield, CA area. He was a hard worker with high expectations.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents; his big sister, Diane and daughter,
Dezerie. He is survived by his wife, Marlene Lewis Adams, of
Grand Junction, CO; his daughters, Kim and Jody, of Bakersfield, CA,
and Emily of MS; his son, O.J., of Sylmar, CA. “Life brings you so
many obstacles throughout life that we often overlook the little things
and we never stop and appreciate those who possess the charisma that
make differences in others’ lives. Those people usually are the ones
who go un-thanked, but yet they keep on helping others until they are
not around to thank anymore. Then and only then do we see the importance
of the little things we as humans actually do for one another.
That little thing called love. Nothing can ever take that away from
me. You will never leave that place in my heart, no matter if you’re
here or not. You helped keep this heart beating all these years. Thank
you and love you always and forever.” O.J.; His siblings, Shara Fisch,
of Fresno, CA; Jeana Tooley and Lorna (Chuck) Atkins, of Vancouver,
WA; Doren (Marie) Adams, of Shady Point, OK; Byran Adams,
of Pasadena, TX; and his big sister’s husband, Bill McBride, of TX;
grandchildren, Brooke, Aubriana, Lauren, Katarina, Anthony, Angel
and Alberto; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, who
loved him very much.
A scattering of ashes memorial service will be held near Bakersfield,
CA at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Mary’s Hospital in
Grand Junction, CO.
Condolences may be mailed c/o Shara Fisch, P.O. Box 3153, Pinedale,
CA 93650.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Mesa Funeral Service,
Grand Junction, CO.
Ed will be in our hearts forever and we will always remember his favorite
quote, “Never look backwards, always look forward”. Farewell,
until we meet again.
