Forrest S. Adair
June 4, 1927 - March 26, 2015
Forrest, the fourth of nine children was born in Hayden, Colorado to Everett Adair and Winifred (Grant) Adair.
Forrest attended schools in the Steamboat area and graduated from Steamboat High School.
He married Lourraine McCollum on December 19, 1945, in Steamboat. He then entered the military at the end of WWII.
Forrest was a smart, funny, charming man who allowed you to learn life’s lessons yourself. Throughout Forrest’s career, he was President of the Rose Hill Credit Union, numerous square dance clubs, Toastmasters, and a teacher of square and round dancing. He enjoyed writing rhyming poetry and lyrics. All around, he was a very charismatic man. He retired from St. Mary’s Hospital in 1985.
Forrest and Lourraine loved to square dance, and to lake fish
and camp. They made many life time friends in these endeavors.
After they retired, they became “snow birds” in Arizona.
Forrest was preceded in death by his wife, Lourraine, and his
brothers, Jack, Bill, George, and Ralph.
He is survived by two daughters, Nina K. Cook (Dale) of
Greeley, and Cynthia L. Adair (Mark Abbott) of Grand
Junction; sister, Janet Ozbun and sister-in-law, Darlene Adair of Grand Junction; three brothers, Edward (Oregon); Donald
(Flourine), Grand Junction, and Bruce of California. He has
three granddaughters, and three great-grandchildren.
Inurnment will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015, at
Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Grand Junction followed by a Memorial Service at 2:30 p.m. at Crossroads Methodist Church, Grand Junction, Colorado.

Steamboat Springs pioneer family member Forrest S. Adair of Grand Junction, died on March 26, 2015 in Loveland, CO. Forrest was born in Hayden, CO. Inurnment will be on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 1:00pm @ Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Grand Junction, followed by a memorial service at Crossroads Methodist Church 599 30 road, Grand Junction, CO 81504 at 2:30pm. All are welcome.
