“Patty” Patricia Eillen-Fitzimmons Riggin passed away on Friday the 16th with her family by her side in peace. The queen of dance and loved mother will have a celebration of life to be announced soon. She loved this valley and all who celebrated the arts. Smiles are appreciated. Pass it forward.

Patricia E. Riggin, 79, died on April 17 in Denver.
A funeral mass will be offered in St. Mary’s Church in Nutley, New Jersey, on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
Visiting is at the Prout Funeral Home, (www.proutfuneralhome.com), which is located at 370 Bloomfield Ave. in Verona, New Jersey, will be on Saturday from 9-10 a.m.
Born in Newark, New Jersey, Patti moved to Vail over 30 years ago.
She was a classically trained ballerina and dance instructor who was very involved in the fine arts and Catholic faith communities of Vail. Patti was a lifelong member of Dance Masters of America and a choreographer for numerous charitable events throughout the years.
She is survived by her four sons, Scott (his wife, Lisa), Mark (his wife, Stephanie), Brett and Todd; and her siblings, William Fitzsimmons, Karen Cawthorne and Michael Fitzsimmons. She is also survived by five grandchildren and a large circle of dear friends in Vail.
A memorial mass and celebration of her life in Vail will be announced.

Patricia Eileen Fitzsimmons Riggin, 1936-2015
Patricia Riggin left this earth peacefully with her sons and friends by her side. She made the Vail Valley her home for many years and made many friends.
Her love of the arts and passion for life will be greatly missed. Services will be held at St. Mary’s Church on May 2 in Nutley, New Jersey. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Prout Funeral Home in Verona, New Jersey.
A future celebration of life gathering in Vail will be announced. Her family appreciates well-wishes and is comforted knowing that she is “dancing” again in a better place.
