Hugh W. LUBY's Father Dead.
John LUBY, of Buena Vista, and father of H. W. LUBY of Minturn, died Sunday afternoon at Buena Vista of myocarditis, which had rendered his condition critical during the last month and caused his two absent children to hurry to his bedside.
Funeral services were held at Leadville Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the home of the deceased's daughter, Mrs. Paul PEYER.
Mr. LUBY was born may 10, 1831, in Galloway county, Ireland, and therefore lived to the ripe old age of 86 years. He came to America with relatives when he was eight years old. After going to Leadville in the spring of 1878, Mr. LUBY engaged for many years in mining, handling many mining leases and becoming one of the well known mining men of the district.
Three children survive. They are Hugh LUBY of Minturn, Mrs. Paul PEYER, of Leadville, and Miss Josephine LUBY of Buena Vista.

LUBY. Sunday, July 1, at Buena Vista, John LUBY, aged 86 years. Funeral services will be held here Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Paul PEYER, 219 East Eighth street.
John LUBY.
John LUBY, an old resident of Leadville, who had lived in latter years at Buena Vista, and father of Mrs. Paul PEYER of 219 East Eighth street, died yesterday afternoon at Buena Vista of myocarditis, which had rendered his condition critical during the last month and caused his two absent children to hurry to his bedside.
Mrs. PEYER spent much of the last month at Buena Vista, where her sister, Miss Josephine LUBY, of that town had been attending their father at the beginning of his serious sickness.
It was arranged last evening to hold funeral services here Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Mrs. PEYER's residence. The Moynahan and O'Malia Undertaking company was notified here to take charge of the funeral, and E. R. O'Malia went to Buena Vista late in the afternoon, bringing Mr. LUBY's remains to Leadville by automobile early in the evening.
