Larry George Raine
December 9, 1937 - October 20, 2014
Larry was born December 9, 1937, in Grand Junction, Colorado to Lowell and Rachel Raine. He died October 20, 2014, at Grand Junction VA, CLC after a long battle with cancer.
Larry was one of five children. He was raised in Montrose and graduated from Montrose High School. He joined the Air Force shortly after graduating and served from 1956 to 1960.
Larry worked and retired from the Grand Junction Post Office. He loved the outdoors, bike riding, hiking, hunting and fishing. His strongest passion was raising and training his mules in later years. He followed and supported his children in his younger years, taking them to rodeos all over the Midwest. He loved all of these activities with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack Raine and sister, Betty Hoffman.
He is survived by his three children, daughter, Lorry (Ken) Davis; sons, Greg (Diane) Raine, and Cass (Juddah) Raine; sisters, Bonnie (Rich) Percival, and Gail Chandler; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 27, 2014, at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 2830 Riverside Parkway, Grand Junction, Colorado. A memorial gathering will be held following the service at A Taste of Heaven in Grand Junction.
