Donald Laverne Sattler, 85, Grand Junction, died Dec. 28, 2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital. Services are pending. Mr. Sattler was a computer analyst for U.S. Steel. Survivors include wife Rosemary; sons Donald of Bloomington, Indiana, and Thomas of Muskego, Wisconsin; and daughters Susan Killian of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Paulette Shorter of Nathrop, and Ruth Rosenstein and Audrey Sattler, both of Basalt.

Donald "Don" L. Sattler
August 3, 1929 - December 28, 2014
Don Sattler passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado with his wife and children at his side. Don was born in DeKalb, Illinois, to Delbert H. Sattler and Mary Elva (Skelley) and his family moved to Waukegan, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Gerald and Bernard. He is survived by brother Paul (Mary); he is also survived by his wife of 64 years, Rosemary (Gross); his six children, Susan (John) Killian; Paulette (Mike) Shorter; Ruth (Les) Rosenstein ; Donald Jr. (Helen), Audrey (Don Fleisher) Sattler; and Thomas (Sue), ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Don worked for 39 years at United States Steel before first retiring to Florida and then moving to Colorado in 2005. Don loved spending time with his family, traveling, and was an avid reader of history. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Men’s Choir and tutored children at Holy Family Catholic School as well as the John McConnell Math and Science Center of Western Colorado. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Holy Family Catholic School, 786 26 1/2 Road, Grand Junction, Colorado, 81506. A celebration of his life will be scheduled in the spring of 2015.

enjoying Grand Junction as a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Men’s Choir and tutoring children at Holy Family Catholic School as well as the John McConnell Math and Science Center of Western Colorado.
