James McRoy Martin, 72, Grand Junction, died Dec. 31, 2014, at his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 12 at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary Chapel, with interment at 1 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado.
Mr. Martin was a diesel mechanic.
Survivors include two sons, Loren and Edward, both of Grand Junction; three daughters, Clarice Martin of Grand Junction, Dorothy Caulkins of Anchorage, Alaska, and Lauretta Neff of Bayfield; four sisters, Alice Vodopich of CaƱon City, Darlene DeVries of Pueblo, Yvonne Averill of Montrose and Joanne Palmer of Grand Junction; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

James McRoy Martin, 72, of Grand Junction, died at home December 31, 2014.
Services will be at 11:00 a. m. January 12 at Callahan- Edfast Mortuary Chapel, with interment at 1:00 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Cemetary of Western Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Lola and Gordon Jenkins; and his father, Clarence Martin.
He is survived by two sons, Loren and Edward both of Grand Junction, and three daughters, Clarice Martin of Grand Junction; Dorothy Calkins of Anchorage, Alaska, and Lauretta Neff of Bayfield; four sisters, Alice Vodopich of Canon City; Darlene DeVries of Pueblo; Yvonne Averill of Montrose, and Joanne Palmer of Grand Junction; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
James was born in Olathe, spent his early years on the family
farm, moved to Delta as a youngster, then lived in Grand Junction before and after his years in US Navy (1961-1965 and Naval Reserve until 1967). Member of the International. Union of Operating Engineers Local No 9 for 38 years, proud member of the NRA, had an amazing sense of humor, loved life immensely and was immediately loved by everyone who met him. He enjoyed the outdoors, country dancing, all things scientific, gardening, learning, woodworking, and spending time with his dogs and loved ones.
