Johnna Faye McCarley

Johnna "Johnnie" McCarley, 91, passed away on January 4, 2015. She had been a resident of Clifton, Colorado for 43 years.
She was born on July 23, 1923 to Alvin and Ruby (Carson) Caperton in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where she spent her childhood and graduated from Fort Smith High School in 1941.
Johnna married P.R. McCarley on June 9, 1945, in Fullerton,
California. They were married for 53 years until his death in
April, 1999.
Mrs. McCarley was a homemaker. Her husband’s career in the space program involved many moves back and forth across the country and she loved setting up new homes for her family and exploring new places and making friends wherever they landed.
She enjoyed spending time with her friends and her family, especially her beloved great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Peggy Miller; granddaughter,
Alana Miller, and grandson, Danny Miller, all of Grand Junction; four great-grandchildren, Jayden Callahan, Hayley Vinton, Myla Miller and Bria Miller all of Grand Junction.
She was preceded in death by her husband, P.R.; her son, Michael McCarley; her brother, Harlan Caperton and two sisters, Naomi Kaylor and Dorothea Mayfield.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
