Alex Wilkinson
January 14, 1933 - January 5, 2015
Alex D Wilkinson was gently swept into the Lord’s presence Monday, January 5, 2015 at HopeWest Hospice in Grand Junction, CO.
Born in Beaver County Oklahoma,
he has lived in Kingman, AZ, Western Colorado,
and California. Alex married Evelyn Louise Tattershall in 1953, she preceded him in death in 1961. He married Mary Lee Gerry-Covey in 1962.
He worked various jobs, Signal Gang/D&RG Railroad, Oil
Shale Plant in "Grand Valley" CO, he briefly ran a dairy in
Collbran, CO. He worked as a Signal Draftsman Designer 36
years for the Southern Pacific Railroad in San Francisco, until retiring in 1992. He and Mary returned to Colorado to be closer tofamily, which gave him great joy. He enjoyed RV’ing with Mary, visiting Custer State Park.
Many have been blessed by his generosity; he was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends. He had a marvelous sense of humor and was always a willing participant in harmless practical jokes.
Alex is preceded in death by his parents; Louise; brother, Lester, and a pre-term infant son. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Survivors include wife, Mary; children, Dennis (Patsy) Wilkinson; Wayne (Etta) Wilkinson; Robin (Arturo) Agredano; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and brothers, Rudy and Gene Wilkinson.
Celebration of life will be January 10, 2015, at 2:00 p.m.,
Church on the Rock Grand Junction, CO. Burial to follow in
Elmwood Cemetery Fruita, CO.
