Judy Marie Thompson
March 9, 1953 - December 25, 2014
Judy Marie Thompson rejoined her maker on Christmas day, 2014.
She was born March 9, 1953, in Paonia, Colorado to Gilbert and Marie Wilson. She grew up there on her families orchards. Her love of growing things, especially flowers, led to many years of working in several greenhouses in the Grand Junction area. She had also been a dental assistant. Judy was formerly married to Chris Chrysler, the father of her two children. In 1995, she married Randall Thompson.
Judy’s untimely passing at age 61, was due to the complications of advanced early onset Alzheimer’s, which she was diagnosed with four and one half years ago. She was a two time breast cancer survivor, and memorial contributions should be made to the American Cancer Society or HopeWest Hospice, this at her own request.
Judy loved to hike, camp, explore new places, and grow flowers.
She was a lifelong member of the Christian Churches,
Paonia, Appleton, and Palisade.
Judy is survived by her husband, Randall Thompson, and son, Charles "Chuck" Chrysler, both of Grand Junction; daughter,
and son-in-law, Sarah and Burton Dole, of Mesa, CO; their
three daughters; step-son, Dallas Thompson of California; three brothers, Ralph (Sharon) Wilson of Grand Junction; Ray (Dolores) Wilson of Delta, and Ron (Maxine) Wilson of Paonia.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held Sunday, January 18, at
3:00 p.m. at Appleton Christian Church, 2510 I-70 Frontage
Road.
