Betty Jo Matheson, age 90,
longtime resident of Carbondale,
passed away December 15, 2014.
She was born in Hotchkiss, CO,
on June 26, 1924, to Arnold and
Manila Walther.
Betty met and married Donald
Matheson while living in Minturn,
CO. He preceded her in death in
1954.
Betty loved her time spent with family. She was a loving mother, fantastic
grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She left her family with wonderful memories and they will forever
miss her.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Conard Walther;
sister, Lucille Maurin; husband, Donald Matheson, and their son, Clifford
Matheson.
Betty is survived by her sister, Julia Shoemaker; son, Ken Matheson;
daughter, LaDonna Smith; grandchildren, Jon Smith, Keith Smith, and
Makahla Matheson-Bulik; great-grandchildren, Mason, Allison, and
Emma, along with many nieces, nephews, and their families.
Viewing and memorial services will be held at Rifle Funeral Home.
Viewing on December 18th from 1 – 3:00 p.m., and services on December
19th at 1:00 p.m.
