Arlie Gene Shaw, 87, Grand Junction, died Nov. 10, 2014, at Grand Junction VA Medical Center.Mr. Shaw was a U.S. Air Force master sergeant.Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Veterans Memorial Cem-etery of Western Colorado.Survivors include one son, Terry of Calhan; one daughter, Deb-bie Green of Grand Junction; one sister, Bonnie Ulrich of Greeley; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.Contribution to the Grand Valley Combined Honor Guard, P.O. Arlie Gene Shaw, 87, of Grand
Junction, CO passed away Monday,
November 10, 2014, at the VA
Medical Center.
He was born August 19, 1927, in
Julesburg, CO, to the late Fred and
Elsie (France) Shaw. He enlisted
in the Army Air Corp in 1946. He
served during three wars; WWII,
Korea, and Vietnam. He retired
from the Air Force in 1971.
He married Dorothy Lundberg, June 9, 1956, and together they raised
two children. Arlie enjoyed sports, woodworking, fishing, riding his
ATV, and his dog, Lady. He was a generous man and always willing
to help.
Survivors include daughter, Debbie (Nate) Green, Grand Junction,
CO; son, Terry (Sharon) Shaw, Calhan, CO; sister, Bonnie Ulrich,
Greeley, CO; seven grandchildren, Holly (Joe) Weaver, Jerry (Elizabeth)
Foth, Kristen (Chad) Burnside, Dustin Shaw, Amy Owens, Matthew
Green, and Elizabeth Martin; 15 great-grandchildren and three
great-great-grandchildren.
Services with Military Honors will be Friday, November 21, 2014, at
3:00 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado, 2830
Riverside Parkway, Grand Junction, CO, followed by a Celebration of
Life in the Aspen Room at The Double Tree, 743 Horizon Dr.
Donations to The Grand Valley Combined Honor Guard, PO Box
4438, Grand Junction, CO 81502.
