Paul Wright Shideler

Paonia, Colorado resident, Paul Wright Shideler, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015, at his home in Paonia, Colorado. He was 89 years of age.
There will be a funeral service at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Friday, January 23, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. in Paonia, Colorado. Interment with military honors by Wilson-Head American Legion Post #97 will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Paonia, Colorado.
Paul Shideler was born on February 24, 1925, to William
Wright “Bill” and Beulah (Jenks) Shideler in Nucla, Colorado.
He spent his childhood in Bedrock, Colorado, and graduated
from Montrose High School. He proudly served in the Navy
during WWII. He furthered his education at Western State
College, where he got his Masters in School Administration.
On June 22, 1946, Paul married the love of his life, Myrl Edna
Newbury, in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. To this union four daughters were born.
Paul was a member of the Lions Club and Wilson ~ Head
American Legion Post # 97.
Paul loved to teach even more so than being a principal. He
also enjoyed polka dancing, fishing, camping, and working in
the garden.
Paul is survived by his wife, Myrl Shideler of Paonia,
Colorado; four daughters, Susan Pagano of Paonia, Colorado; Paula (Bill) Chick of Delta, Colorado; Eileen Shideler of Paonia, Colorado, and Nadean Quon Brian, of Diamond Bar, California; brother, Raymond (Rose) Shideler; and sisters, Neva (Don) Birdwill of Chula Vista, California, and Janet (Jim) Charlesworth of Crawford, Colorado. He is further survived by four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Beulah
Shideler; his brother, Alfred Shideler, and sister ,Elda Shideler
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor
Funeral Service and Crematory.

Paul Wright Shideler, 89, Paonia, died Jan. 16, 2015, at his
home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Immanuel Lutheran
Church in Paonia.
Survivors include his wife, Myrl; four daughters, Susan Pagano of Paonia, Paula Chick of Delta, Eileen Shideler of Paonia and Nadean Quon Brian of Diamond Bar, California; one brother, Raymond Shideler; two sisters, Neva Birdwill of Chula Vista, California and Janet Charlesworth of Crawford; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
