Jacob "Jack" Lockert
October 20, 1926 - January 13, 2015
Jack Lockert passed away on January 13th, under the care of HopeWest, Grand Junction.
Jack spent his childhood and most of his adult life in West Chicago, Illinois. He served in the US Navy, received two college degrees, was a Lions Club member and theowner/operator of Lockert’s Flowers in West Chicago.
In 1962, Jack joined his brothers, Ervin and Danny in Mesa,
Colorado to try their hands at ranching.
Jack and Danny returned to West Chicago in 1964, where Jack managed Lockert’s Land Improvement and he later owned a real estate office and worked as a broker/agent.
In 1994, Jack retired and moved back to Western Colorado. He was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church. He enjoyed reading, history, the outdoors and exploring the
mountains, forests and parks in Colorado and the surrounding area. He also enjoyed trips to Mesquite, bird watching, gardening and growing plants and flowers.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and brothers. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a private memorial on a future date.
