Marie Younger-Albertson, 98, Grand Junction, died March 30, 2015, at HopeWest and Hospice Care Center.A visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Callahan-Edfast Mortuary Chapel, with a funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at the Orchard Mesa Cemetery.Ms. Younger-Albertson was a homemaker.She is survived by four sons, Bert Younger of Littleton, Dan Younger of Eckert, Glen Younger of Grand Junction, and Vern Al-bertson of Burns; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.Memorial contributions to HopeWest and Hospice Care Center, 3090B N. 12th St., Grand Junction, 81506, or to one’s local church.

Marie "Mickey" Younger Albertson
February 12, 1917 - March 30, 2015 Katherine Marie Younger Albertson, age 98, passed away at Hospice Care Center on March 30, 2015.
She was born February 12, 1917, to Nona and Bert Gates on the Gates Ranch near Burns, Colorado, where she was raised.
Marie graduated from Gypsum High School and attended
Blair’s Business College in Colorado Springs. She then returned to Burns where she met Charles W. Younger. They were married October 5, 1941. They ranched near Oak Creek, Colorado for many years. They moved to Grand Junction for Charles’ health in 1961, and had lived there for 12 years when Charles passed away.
Marie and Joe E. Albertson were married in 1974. They spent
many summers at his ranch in Burns, and winters in Grand
Junction or Arizona.
Marie and Charles are survived by three sons, Bert (Rolanda), Daniel (Ethel), and Glen (Becky); seven grandchildren, ten greatgrandchildren,; two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Younger, their daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Don Colson; her second husband, Joe Albertson; four brothers; four sisters, and her parents.
Services will be held at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, 2515
