James Edward Ivey
June 15, 1933 - March 28, 2015
James Edward Ivey of Clifton, CO, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015, at HopeWest Hospice Care Center.
Mr. Ivey was born in Niagara Falls, NY on June 15, 1933. He moved to Alabama at the age of six and was raised on a farm with cotton, corn and peanuts. He served in the US Army for five and one half years and was honorably
discharged in 1959. James obtained an Associates degree in
Police Science and served on the Manitou Springs, Fountain,
and Colorado Springs police departments. He joined the El Paso
County Sherrifs office on January 1, 1968, and retired as
Division Commander of Investigation in 1990.
He is preceeded in death by his wife, Donna L. Ivey; father,
William T. Ivey; mother, Myrtle V. Ivey; brothers Donald W..
Ivey and Lloyd R. Ivey.
Survivors include his loving wife, Linda Ivey (Richardt);
daughters, Joanne Ivey; Sherri Clements (Ivey); Sandra L.
Sanders (Ivey) and Paula J. Adams (Ivey); sons, James W.
Clements and Joseph A. Clements. He is also survived by his
late wife’s children, David A. Hollowwa and Lavetta L. Adams
(Hollowwa).
A visitation will be April 1st, 2015, from 5 - 7:00 p.m. at
Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. Internment will be April 2 at 1:00
p.m. at Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado.
Memorial service to follow at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary at 4:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions can be made to the HopeWest Hospice Care Center 3090B North 12th Street, Grand Junction, Colorado 81506, in his name for thanks of their loving care.
