Norma Jean Feil
December 28, 1931 - April 27, 2015
Norma Jean (Sims) Feil, 83, went to meet her Lord and Savior on April 27th, 2015. She will be greatly missed by those who called her family and friend. She was born on December 28, 1931, in Paonia, Colorado. She spent her childhood on
the family farm in Midway, Colorado. She graduated from Paonia High School in 1950, and worked in both the Hotchkiss
and Paonia banks before marrying Arlan Feil on October 25, 1962. They spent most of their married life in Grand Junction, Colorado except for a year long adventure in Fairbanks, Alaska while Arlan worked on the Trans Alaska Pipeline. Norma Jean was very involved in her church and directed many children’s choirs in past years. She was an accomplished organist and played for church services weekly before her marriage. She loved being with people and was often found walking around her neighborhood looking for ways to help anyone who needed anything. She also loved sewing and was an active seamstress up until her death. She was passionate about classical music, and her favorite piece was anything her grandchildren were learning at the time. She leaves behind children, Becky Thai (John) Tucson, AZ and Lyndal Feil, Tucson, AZ. She also has three grandchildren, Claire, Andrew, and Joshua. A memorial service is scheduled for May 5th at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Paonia, CO at 1:30. Memorial contributions may be made to Western Slope Concert Series 3410 Ponderosa Court Grand Junction, CO 81506, www.junctionconcerts.com.
