HELEN R. NELSON.
Mrs. Arthur NELSON, well known Minturn lady, passed away in Presbyterian Hospital in Denver April 25, 1963, following an illness of 12 days.
Helen GREGORY was born July 12, 1903 in Leadville, the daughter of Rose and Charles GREGORY. She was educated in St. Mary's School, Leadville and St. Scholastica, Canon City.
She taught school at Como, and Avon, before her marriage to Arthur NELSON in Glenwood Springs, April 7, 1923. The couple lived for many years in Minturn and recently lived at 7030 W. Cedar, Lakewood, Colorado.
Mrs. NELSON was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Minturn and St. Bernadette, Lakewood.
Rosary was said Sunday evening at Moynahan-O'Malia Chapel in Leadville. Requiem Mass was offered by Father Thomas STONE in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Minturn April 29. Interment was in Minturn.
Pallbearers were Wm. W. BURNETT, Emmett G. FLAHERTY, Donald MATHESON, Harvey CLINE, Arnold NOTTINGHAM and Ralph MEYER.
Mrs. NELSON is survived by her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Eugene DURBIN, Lakewood; two grandchildren: Arthur and Clayton DURBIN and one great-grandchild, Derick DURBIN.
Other survivors include cousins: Wm. GREGORY, Mrs. Francis SLAVIN, Florence MAYERLE, all of Leadville; Margaret ABRAHAMSON, Anna CONLEY of Denver and Vincent CROWELL of Tacoma, Wash.
