FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR CLARENCE STEPHENS.
Clarence P. STEPHENS, 70, a resident of Sweetwater for 70 years, died Sunday in Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs following a short illness. Stephens was a retired rancher.
He was born July 17, 1904 at Gypsum. He spent his childhood at Sweetwater, and married Alma HIGHT at Glenwood Springs on June 20, 1925. His wife survives him.
The Stephens' moved from Sweetwater to Glenwood two months ago.
Mr. STEPHENS was a member of the Gypsum Methodist Church, and held several offices in the IOOF at Gypsum. He was secretary of the Sweetwater Livestock Association for several years, and a member of the Colorado Livestock Association.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Miss Ella STEPHENS of Glenwood Springs and Mrs. Robert (Marcia) BERSHENYI of Glenwood Springs; and brother James STEPHENS of Sweetwater and cousin Clarence LEWIS of Gypsum. Survivors also include two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the First Methodist Church in Glenwood Springs, with Rev. Frank HOLMES officiation. Burial was at Rosebud Cemetery with IOOF graveside rites.
