Dewey Owen LEROUX was born to Owen and Ida Winslow LEROUX on March 24, 1900 on his grandfather's homestead on the Sheephorn in Eagle County.
At age five, his family moved to his father's homestead near Radium, where he spent his childhood.
He attended Chicago Technical College, and studied engineering; but due to the depression of the 1930s, he returned to ranching. In 1942 he entered the army; after his discharge, he and his brother Leon continued ranching raising commercial Hereford cattle.
In 1977 they sold the ranch and moved to Cody, Wyo. with a small herd of registered Herefords.
Mr. LEROUX died June 26 of cancer at the age of 80.
He was preceded in death by brothers Leon and John. He is survived by brothers Roy of Radium, Arthur of Cody, and Lois REED of Cody; three nieces and four nephews.
Burial was in the Kremmling cemetery with the Rev. Vernon BALL officiating.
