John Roy Hamilton
November 3, 1946 - March 31, 2015
John Roy Hamilton, of Grand Junction, Colorado, passed away at the age of 68 while working out of the country in Diego Garcia.
John was born in Prescott, AZ where he lived with his parents, John and Ruby Hamilton and his brother, Forrest "Butch". He moved to Henrietta, TX at age 12, and remained there throughout his school years.
John knew many people over the years as he never met a
stranger. John served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Vietnam.
Afterwards he retired from the Bell System and started T/J
Communications.
John was his happiest on his boat in Lake Powell with his
family and enjoyed many other outdoor activities.
He is survived by brother, Butch (Nancy) of Oklahoma; his
children, Lisa (Keith) Smithart of Texas; Rowdy (Alyssa), and
Stacia; step-children, Julie and Nathan (Natasha) Grove of
Colorado; grandchildren, Christy, Jessica, Lacey, Jordan, Cade, Deigen, Kaleb, Bryce, Christopher and Patrick; three greatgrandchildren and two nieces.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2015 at
the Mormon Grand Junction Colorado West Stake at 2542 G
Road, Grand Junction, CO. Burial will be Sunday, April 26,
2015 2:00 p.m. in Henrietta, TX.
