79, Grand Junction, died April 16, 2015. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
Mr. Mitchell was a bank president.
Survivors include his wife,
Leona Ann; one son, Todd Andrew Owen of North Hills, California; two daughters, Misty Monet Mitchell of Delta and Stephanie Diane “Dede” Blake of Grand Junction; three brothers, Clyde Mitchell of Manitou Springs, Donald Mitchell of Delta and Max Moss of Barstow, California; one sister, Virginia Earlene Allen of Lamar; six grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.

Kenneth Gene Mitchell was born in Anderson, Missouri to Luther and Naomi Bailey- Mitchell. The family relocated to Lamar, Colorado where Ken graduated from high school in 1954. He served as cryptographer in the Navy from 1954-1958 and traveled the South Pacific. Ken married the love of his life, Leona Ann Seals, in 1959; they were blessed with five children.
Ken’s banking career began in 1959 at First National Bank in
Lamar where he eventually served as Senior VP. In 1993, Ken became president of the First National Bank of Paonia where he worked until his retirement in 2005. Ken served as a member of Paonia Christian Fellowship, Evening Lions in Lamar and Paonia, and President of the Lamar Chamber of Commerce.
Ken was preceded in death by his father, mother, sister, brother and twin daughters. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ann; his children, Misty Mitchell, Delta; Stephanie "Dede" (TJ) Blake, Grand Junction; Todd (Kelly) Mitchell, North Hills, CA; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers, Clyde (Jo) Mitchell, Manitou Springs; Donald (Barbara) Mitchell, Delta; Max Moss, Barstow; sister: Virginia Moss-Allen, Lamar.
