Elva Marie Kinney

Elva Kinney passed away April 16, 2015, at her home in Collbran, she was 96. Elva was born on May 18, 1918, in Sioux City, Iowa from the union of Henry and Mattie Bergtholdt. She spent her childhood in Sioux City and Marathon, Iowa and graduated from high school in Marathon.
She married Clarence Lynn Kinney on August 24, 1941, at
Marathon, Iowa. Elva and Clarence also previously lived in
Hospers, Iowa, Deer Trail, Colorado and Ouray, Colorado and moved to Collbran, Colorado in 1961. Clarence preceded Elva in death on August 4, 1997.
She was a member of the Collbran Congregational United
Church of Christ and the Rebekah’s Lodge. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
Elva leaves behind two sons, Steven Lynn (Kendra) Kinney of
Clifton and Bruce Allen (Lisa) Kinney of Parker, Colorado;
seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 23,
2015, at the Collbran Congregational United Church of Christ.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, from 5-
8:00 p.m. at Martin Mortuary. A committal service will be held
at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 25, 2015, at the Evergreen
Cemetery, 166 3rd Avenue, Deer Trail, CO 80105.

Elva Marie Kinney, 96, Collbran, died April 16, 2015, at her
home.
A funeral service will be 1 p.m. today at Collbran Congregational United Church of Christ. Committal services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery in Deer Trail.
She is survived by two sons, Steven Lynn Kinney of Clifton and Bruce Allen Kinney of Parker; seven grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren.
