Velma Rose Bartlemay, a resident of Grand Junction for 30
years, passed away at her home on March 10, 2015.
Velma was born May 15, 1932, to Harvey and Florence
Branson in the Collbran area on May 15, 1932. She later moved
to Oregon where she became an accomplished oil painter. She
toured many states to teach and received national recognition
for her paintings, books and videos she produced. For 30 years
Velma was married to Loyd "Cap" Bartlemay of Arlington, Oregon.
Velma is survived by her two sons, Jerry (Shawn) Bartlemay
of Portland, Oregon, and Larry (Laurie) Bartlemay of Arlington,
Oregon. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Josh, Casey,
Jennie, and Caitlin, and three great-grandchildren. Velma is preceded
in death by her brothers, Hugh, Lee, and Howard.
A memorial graveside service will be held Thursday, March
19, at 2:00 p.m. at the Cedar Crest Cemetery in Collbran, Colorado.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Egalite Cemetery in Collbran.
Ms. Bartlemay was an oil painter.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry of Portland, Oregon, and Larry
of Arlington, Oregon; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
