McNeil Seymour Fiske, fondly known as “Mac” to a wide circle of family and friends, passed away September 30, 2015 in Lake Forest, Illinois from Pancreatic Cancer. Born in New York City on January 19, 1934, Mac was one of three sons of Robert and Lenore Fiske. After graduating from Williams College in 1955, he served in the Air Force until 1958. While stationed in Savannah, Georgia, he met Ruth Pietertien Van Puffelen (“Tiena”), marrying in 1959.
Mac’s career began at the First National Bank of Denver, where he pioneered one of the country’s first minority lending programs for which he earned national recognition and commendation from President Nixon. Mac went on to serve as a financial officer for Motor Cargo and was a partner in a number of entrepreneurial ventures. He gave service and support to The Conflict Center in Denver, Interfaith Community Services in Tucson, and the Arizona Chapter of the Parkinson’s Disease Association, among other charities.
Mac is survived by his children, Julia Fiske Parker (James), Lucy Carson (Ron Martinez), and Neil Fiske (Sonya) and ten adoring grandchildren.
Memorial services will be private at the family’s request.
