DEATH OF MRS. KEMPF.
Mrs. Oscar KEMPF of Eagle, died last Thursday at Battle Creek, Michigan, from the result of an operation performed the day before. She had been at the sanitarium for some time receiving treatment. Mrs. KEMPF was formerly the wife of the late Judge George G. WHITE, a pioneer attorney of Leadville, who later acquired the fine ranch on Brush Creek, this county, which Mrs. KEMPF owned at the time of her death.
Mrs. KEMPF, beside her husband, leaves a daughter, Mrs. John A. EWING, of Leadville, and two sons, Benjamin WHITE, of Salt Lake City, and Hume WHITE, the manager at this time of the ranch at Eagle, besides grandchildren, the children of a deceased daughter, at Salt Lake City.
For many years, Mrs. KEMPF had successfully managed the large ranch on Brush Creek, and in very recent years had made many extensive and valuable improvements on the same, some of which were yet incomplete at the time of her death.
Her sudden demise was a severe shock to her many friends in this county, few of whom were aware that she was in a dangerous state of health. The funeral and interment occurred at Denver on Monday.
