Scott Jackson Walck
April 17, 1931 - July 3, 2015
Scott passed away at his home in Grand Junction, CO, on July 3, 2015.
He was born in the Spring of 1931, to Cecil and Harriet Walck, on the JJ Long Ranch in Collbran. He spent his life ranching with his wife of 54 years, Betty, and raised his family in the Plateau Valley.
With Betty by his side, he enjoyed cattle and horses, good crops, a productive garden, hard work, neighbors, ATV rides in the mountains, as well as reading and writing history. He authored the book, “The Way She Were Back Then”. Scott was a wonderful husband, dad, and neighbor.
He took great pride in keeping his property tidy and his home
and shop organized. He was a 60 year member of the Masonic Lodge, a DeMolay Chapter Dad, a member of the Plateau Valley Stockgrowers, the American Simmental Association, the Mesa County Historical Society, the Leon Pool Board, and also served on the Collbran Cemetery District for 25 years.

good,” and “been a great ride.”
