Mr. RUDER worked for Fleming Lumber Co. on Gore Creek since 1947. He assisted in the development of Vail as evidenced in a letter written to his family from Vail Associates:
"We at Vail will miss him more than any words of mine can convey. He was, from the earliest days of Vail, a major factor in the completion of projects which many said "Couldn't be done". Thanks to men like Leonard, they were done--and in Leonard's case, done with such energy and skill that people were amazed and impressed by the results of almost every job he undertook.
"We shall miss him, both as a friend and as an adviser...Leonard will never be forgotten at Vail."
