He is survived by his wife, Sharon Joy Nelson; two sons, B.J.

June 18, 1956 - June 7, 2015
Andy Nelson was born on
June 18, 1956, to Shirley
Thomas-Nelson and Cecil
Nelson, in Denver, Colorado,
along with his twin-brother,
Randy Nelson. He had four
brothers, and one sister.
The family traveled around
Colorado before settling in
Craig, Colorado. As a youngadult,
Andy traveled all across
the United States, often hitchhiking with friends and a couple of
his brothers. He finally settled down in 1992, when he married
Sharon Joy Nelson, on June 20th. He was a brave man, taking
on three children; he raised them as his own.
Andy took his work seriously and was often referred to by his
co-workers as a genius. Andy enjoyed spending time riding
motorcycles or in Andy’s garage, with friends and family,
repairing or upgrading, their “pride and joy”’s. He also enjoyed
spending time outdoors and watching the sunrise and sunset.
Andy was a stern, simple, dignified, and free man, often referred
to as a “Prickly Teddy Bear".
Andy is preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Cecil
Nelson, and his brother, Bob (Robert) Nelson.
Andy is survived by his wife, Sharon Joy Nelson; their
children, B.J. Shoen, Kelli Shoen, and Adam Shoen; brothers,
Rick Nelson, Randy Nelson, Rodney Nelson; sister, Pat Dugan,
as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly
missed.
The family invites you to their home, located at 496 Apple
Blossom Road, Grand Junction, Colorado, 81504, at 10:00 a.m.,
Saturday, June 13, 2015, for an Open House Celebration of
Life. Food and refreshments will be available all day, attire is Tshirt
and blue-jeans, please feel free to come on by and share
stories about his life.
