Steamboat Pilot - July 21, 2001
Glen A. Cary of Steamboat Springs died July 14, 2001 at the Rangely District Hospital. He was 80.
He was born June 1, 1921 in Tow Creek, Routt County, to Samuel and Gertie (Tewksbury) Cary.
He went to work in the coal mines of Routt County at an early age.
He also was employed with the City of Steamboat Springs Water Department, Duckels Company and was a snow remover. He was a member of the United Mine Workers.
Glen was everybody's friend. He was an avid woodworker, gardener and fisherman.
His whirlybirds can be seen all over town.
Memorial services were held July 19 at the First Baptist Church in Steamboat Springs.
The Rev. John Bixby officiated.
Musicians were Delmar Coyner and Ben Russell. Interment is at the Hayden Cemetery. Peterson Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
