Byron "Barney" Jay Hudson, 71, of Galt, California passed away Friday, July 17, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family, Barney was born on April 30, 1944, in Kansas City, Kansas to Georgia and Leon Hudson. He grew up in Salida and Grand Junction, Colorado. He graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1962.
Barney served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam
Veteran. He married Helen Caroline Hudson on August 2, 1969.
He worked as a plumber and plumbing contractor for over 40
years until he was forced to retire due to his illness. He loved
sports, the Denver Broncos, politics, working, reading and his
family and friends.
Barney is survived by his wife of over 45 years, Helen
Hudson; son, Scott (Micah) Hudson; daughters, Camille Hudson and Jennifer Pero; seven grandchildren, Chanell, Jordyn, Hunter, Kylie, Bailey, Dylan and Brooke, and a great-grandson, Raen; his brother, Roger Hudson, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Booth.
Barney will be laid to rest at the Sacramento Valley National
VA Cemetery, in Dixon, California on July 29, 2015.
