Mr. David Rollman of Allen, Texas passed away Aug. 21, 2001, in Plano, Texas. He was 72.

He was born Feb. 16, 1929, in Phippsburg to Ernest Claire and Mable (Nelson) Rollman.

He married Mary Ann Haynes Nov. 4, 1972, in Denver. Mr. Rollman was a Hereford cattle rancher for a number of years, where he made the acquaintance of Mr. J.C. Penney and President Dwight D. Eisenhower.

At the time of his retirement he worked for Case International in Yale, Ill. His real love was woodworking. He created amazing toys, jewelry boxes and furniture, most of which he gave away. He was a member of the Forest Grove Christian Church.

Mr. Rollman is survived by his wife of 27 years, Mary Ann Rollman of Allen, Texas; a son, Bill Carmickle and wife, Donna, of Allen, Texas; a daughter, Lynette Starwalt and husband, Jack, of Ft. Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Jason and Bonnie Alexander, Chrissy McDonald, Billy Jonas Carmickle, Shelly Reeves and Victoria Bergman; brothers, John Rollman of Colorado, Steve Rollman of Colorado and Louie Rollman of Washington; sisters, Margaret Leggett of New Braunfels, Texas, Irene McCoy, Dorothy Bearden, Marian Skiles and Elnora Stauffer, all of Colorado, and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, John Carmickle.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Aug. 24, 2001, at the Forest Grove Christian Church with Rev. Walter Moseley and Rev. Michael Waco officiating. Interment will follow at Fitzhugh Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 23 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
