Lucille "Lukie" Elizabeth Haggerty

Lukie was born in Grand Junction in 1933, to Frank and Josephine Prinster, the youngest of eight children. She attended Mount Saint Scholastica School in Canon City and Loretto Heights College, later returning to work in her family’s business. Lucille married Gene Haggerty (deceased) on September 6, 1954. Together they celebrated 50 anniversaries and had four children. She is survived by children, Linda (Jeff) Elkind, Jim (Caryn) Haggerty, Carol (JP) dela Montaigne, and Kevin (Lisa) Haggerty, as well as twelve grandchildren, Natalie, Alison, Emily, Kevin, Vincent, Leah, Jenna, Jack, Slater, Sam, Matt, and Rebecca. Lucille was a good friend, devoted mother, and member of St. Joseph’s and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Churches. She volunteered through her faith community serving as a member of St. Mary’s Women’s Auxiliary, and for the Catholic schools of St Joseph’s, IHM and Holy Family. With her family, she was a founding member of the Holy Family Education Foundation. Funeral services will be held at 11:00, August 19, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, in Sun City, AZ. She will be laid to rest with Gene in Grand Junction. Services have yet to be announced. Memorial donations to Holy Family Catholic School Foundation, 786 26 1/2 Road, GJ 81506.

Inurnment Services for Lucille E. Haggerty will take place on Friday, October 30, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. in the Columbarium at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Grand Junction. A reception will follow for family and friends at Bookcliff Country Club from 4 - 6:00 p.m.
