Mary Therese Heiberger

A funeral mass was held Thursday, October 8, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Callahan- Edfast Chapel in Grand Junction, Colorado for Mary Therese Heiberger; Father Donald Malin officiated. She was laid to rest at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado at 1:00 p.m. in Grand Junction, Colorado with Callahan-Edfast Mortuary in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers were David Heiberger, Steve Heiberger, Jon
Heiberger and Christopher Heiberger.
Mary Heiberger, daughter of Felix and Elizabeth Donelan, was
born in Montrose, South Dakota on June 12, 1934. Mary grew
up in Montrose, South Dakota and graduated from Montrose
High School. She served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean
conflict.
She married Stephen Vincent Heiberger on July 30, 1956 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Montrose, South Dakota. She
worked at Colton’s Mayflower Moving and Storage in
Glenwood Springs, Colorado. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Grand Junction, Colorado.
Mary died on October 4, 2015, at Manttey Heights Care
Center in Grand Junction, Colorado, having attained the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen V.
Heiberger; her parents; two brothers, Bernard "Doc" Donelan
and Merle Donelan of Montrose, South Dakota; two sisters,
Joan Donelan, and Sister Agnes Marie Donelan of Aberdeen,
South Dakota.
Mary enjoyed painting, doing puzzles and was an avid reader,
family gemologist but most of all enjoyed spending time with
her family.
Grateful for having shared her life are her three sons, David
Heiberger and Jon Heiberger of Glenwood Springs, Colorado;
Steve Heiberger of San Diego, California; two daughters,
Cheryl Heiberger and Mary Celeste Heiberger of Glenwood
Springs, Colorado; grandson, Christopher Heiberger of New
Castle, Colorado and granddaughter, Sarah Therese Heiberger of San Diego, California; two great-grandsons, Steven and Wyatt; two brothers, Larry (Patty) Donelan of Ft. Pierre, South Dakota and Michael (Judy) Donelan of Montrose, South Dakota; two sisters, Mary Darlene (Clem) Steinauer of Tecumsah, Nebraska and Roni "Jean" Donelan of Los Angeles, California; brothers-in-law, Charles Mulloy of Timber Lake, South Dakota and Dean Erickson of Salem, South Dakota; sisters-in-law, Audrey Meyers of Silt, Colorado; Mille Heiberger of Salem, South Dakota and Helen Heiberger of Salem South Dakota; Mary Jane Donelan of Montrose, South Dakota, and many loving nieces and nephews.
