Gordon Dean Haller, known
to everyone as Pete, passed
away at The Willows in Fruita
on October 28, 2015. He was
born on July 21, 1934, to
Leslie and Elva (Clark) Haller
at Fruita on July 21, 1934. His
mother passed away three
weeks after his third birthday.
Pete graduated from Fruita Union High School in 1952. He
worked as a butcher, then in the uranium field before entering
the Army for three years. He served as a company clerk, did
some parachuting, and testing of bombs at White Sands Proving
Grounds. He also worked at American Gilsonite, Colorado
Department of Highways. He went to Lincoln Welding School
in Cleveland and opened Haller’s Welding, which he operated
for 21 years.
Pete served on the Fruita City Council and also served as
mayor. He was a member of Faith Bible Church and Stillwater
Cowboy Church.
On October 7, 1956, he married Marilyn (Manley) and they
had three children. He is survived by his wife of 59 years; one
daughter, Debbie (Doug) Burford; one son, Doug Haller, all of
Fruita; four grandsons, Dan (Ann Music) Burford of Beaverton,
OR; Nathan (Rachael) Burford of Twenty-Nine Palms, CA;
Cullen Burford of Phoenix, AZ; Andrew Burford of Grand
Junction, CO, and one granddaughter, Maddie Haller of Fruita.
He is also survived by his brother, Les Haller; sister, Elva
Lombardi, both of Grand Junction; and numerous nieces,
nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald; and sisters,
Aileen Boss, Madalyn Camp, and Renee Vollmer.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at Callahan-
Edfast Mortuary from 6 - 8:00p.m. Services will be Wednesday,
November 4, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Victory Life Church, 2066
Highway 6 & 50 Fruita, CO 81521.

Gordon Dean “Pete” Haller, 81, Fruita, died Oct. 28, 2015, at
The Willows.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Victory Life Church. Interment
will be ]at 3 p.m. today at New Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Haller was the owner/operator of a welding company.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; one son, Doug of Fruita; one
daughter, Debbie Burford of Fruita; one brother, Les Jr. of Grand
Junction; one sister, Elva Lombardi of Grand Junction; and five
grandchildren.
