Mary Creagar, 89, Grand Junction, died Sept. 13, 2015, at
HopeWest Care Center.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, with services at 10
a.m., at the Callahan-Edfast Mortuary Chapel.
Ms. Creagar was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Harold Ellena of Paonia; one daughter,
Millie Branscum of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; three grandchildren;
seven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Mary Creagar, 89, passed
away peacefully in Grand
Junction, CO at the HopeWest

Sunday, September 13, 2015.
Mary was born to Croation
immigrants, Joseph and Milka
(Fake) Vodopich on February
26, 1926, in a cabin on their
homestead in the Ragged Mountains of Colorado. She was the
youngest of 11 children and attended the one room, Spring
Creek School that still stands near the Paonia reservoir. Mary
married Frank Ellena, Jr. and they had two children. Later,
divorced, she moved to Grand Junction where she was one of
the original employees of the Cafe Caravan. She was also
employed at Gay Johnson’s for several years in Rawlins, WY.
Mary was devoted to her family and loved spending time with
her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-greatgrandchildren.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling in the
mountains, crocheting, and knitting.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Milka
Vodopich; her husband, Thomas Herman Creagar, and siblings,
John Vodopich, Joe Vodopich, Jr., Mike Vodopich, Emil
Vodopich, Rudolph Vodopich, Frances Teesliak, Anton
Vodopich, Frank Vodopich, Charles Vodopich, William
Vodopich.
She leaves behind her son and daughter-in-law, Harold and
Mary Ellena, Paonia, CO; daughter, Millie Branscum,
Okmulgee, OK; grandchildren, Ben (Terri) Shepardson, Jr.,
Glade Park, CO; Dwayne Shepardson, Okmulgee, OK; Ricky
(Dianne) Shepardson, Okmulgee, OK; as well as seven greatgrandchildren
and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary will be held 9:00 a.m.
on Friday, September 18, 2015, with a funeral service following
at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Grand Junction Memorial
Gardens.
