Bruce Elric Charbonneau,
age 67, resident of Grand Junction,
Colorado, passed away at
home on October 20, 2015.
He was born December 12th,
1947 to Orval Elric
Charbonneau and Anna Lucile
Clapper in Oakland, California.
Shortly after graduating from Eugene High School, Eugene,
Oregon, Bruce joined the Marine Corps where he served his
country in Vietnam and was decorated with several honors before
being honorably discharged as a Sergeant on April 4, 1972.
Bruce spent 40 years of his professional life as a Master Carpenter
and his meticulous and expert craftsmanship can be seen
throughout the greater Aspen Valley. After retiring, Bruce pursued
a passion for photography and graduated from Colorado
Mountain College (Spring Valley Campus) near Glenwood
Springs, Colorado with an Associates Degree in Photography.
An avid outdoorsman, Bruce’s persistence and patience made
him a natural as a wildlife photographer.
He had many other interests and talents including his love of
music and he spent a great deal of time writing lyrics and playing
guitar. He performed an original song, “A Tapestry,” for his
wife, Joyce Charbonneau at their wedding on October 8, 1983 at
McClure Pass and again at the wedding of his daughter in the
spring of 2007.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Joyce Charbonneau of Grand
Junction, Colorado; son, Beau Charbonneau also of Grand Junction;
daughter, Megan Mariani, son-in-law, Stephen and two
adoring grandkids, Jack and Payton of New Fairfield, CT; his
mother, Lucile Charbonneau and sister, Charlotte Youngquist of
Mt. Vernon, WA. Bruce was predeceased by his son, Justin
Charbonneau.
Following a private burial, a service will be held at 3:00 p.m.
on Friday, November 6th at The Orchard, 110 Snowmass Drive,
Carbondale, CO 81623 with a reception to follow.
