Myrna Mae Hudson
September 16, 1934 - October 21, 2015
Myrna Mae Hudson passed away at the Hope West and Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction, CO on October 21, 2015. She passed away from complications due to a broken hip and shoulder and COPD.
Myrna was born September 16, 1934, to John Gesellman and Alma L. (Bowen) Gesellman in Palisade, Colorado and raised on the family orchard in Palisade. She attended Mount Lincoln Elementary School and Palisade High School, graduating on May 28, 1952.
Myrna had an extraordinary love and appreciation for animals
and always donated to the Humane Society. Her favorite hobby was waterskiing and boating, she loved the water and going to Lake Powell. Myrna also loved the outdoors and was an excellent gardener.
Myrna was joined in marriage to Donald William Hudson at
the First Baptist Church in Grand Junction, CO on May 28,
1952, they later divorced in 1981. They began married life in
Clifton and later moved to Dead Horse Point in Utah and Cedar City, Utah for uranium core drilling. They moved back to
Clifton, CO in 1954, Where Myrna raised her family.
Myrna’s working career included working in the orchards,
picking and packing peaches on the family orchard. She packed peaches for the Pacific Fruit Company and the United Fruit Growers, which was located in Clifton, CO. She worked several years at Pond’s grocery store that was also located in Clifton, CO. She then went to work for Safeway as a meat wrapper, progressing up to a meat cutter and then a Meat Manager. She was one of the first women Meat Managers for Safeway. Myrna later retired from Safeway that used to be located on 7th and North Avenue in Grand Junction, CO. Myrna was an extremely hard worker and always gave 200% to her job. She loved to work and did not like to be idle.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon L. Hoselton (Don) of
Clifton; grandson, Jake Shaw of Meeker, CO; granddaughters,
Jamie (Shaw) Pantuso (Chaunsey) of Pittsburgh, PA and
Brandy Pennington of New Mexico. She also has two stepgrandsons, Mark Hoselton of Debeque, CO and Donald
Hoselton, Jr, of North Dakota; one step-granddaughter, Suzanne Lucas of Denver, CO; 16 great-grandchildren and six great-greatgrandchildren.
Her husband, Donald W. Hudson and her son, Donald L.
Hudson, precede Myrna in death.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.

Arrangements were entrusted to Palisade Funeral Home.
