Marie (Mae) Phillips, 96, Grand Junction, died Oct. 24, 2015, at her home. Services are pending with Brown’s Cremation and Funeral Service.
Ms. Phillips was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Lucero Jr. and Ron Lucero, both of Grand Junction; two daughters, Jayne P. Garcia of Thornton and Gloria Marquez of Grand Junction; four brothers, Fred Lopez of Grand Junction, Gilbert Lopez of Nyssa, Oregon, Johnny Lopez of Berkeley, California, and Pete Lopez of Tampa, Florida; four sisters, Nancy Lobato of Monte Vista, Alice Maldonado of Colorado, Margrett Ortega of Sumner, Washington, and Dee Stoddard of Everett, Washington; nine grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

Marie M. Phillips, age 96, of Grand Junction, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at her residence.
Marie was preceded in death by her second husband, Merrill Phillips (2008), exhusband and father to her four children, Joseph Lucero (1980); daughter, Jayne P. Garcia (1997); son, Joe Lucero Jr. (1958); brothers, Peter Lopez, Johnny Lopez, Fred Lopez, Gilbert Lopez (Linda); sisters, Nancy Labato (Dale), Dee Stoddard (Everett), Alice Maldonado (Ruben) and Margaret Ortega (Paul).
Marie is survived by her daughter, Gloria Marquez (Balmer);
son, Ron Lucero; son, Steve Phillip; daughter, Susie White
(Adam); son-in-law, Tim, sisters-in-law, Verna and Joni,
daughters-in-law, Lee, and Kendra; nine grandchildren; 29 greatgrandchildren, and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
In life we loved her dearly and in death we will do the same.
Marie left all her family and those she met throughout her 96
years on this earth with amazing memories. Our hearts are
broken and nothing will ever be the same. Rest in Peace, most
amazing wife, daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt,
cousin and friend. Heaven is blessed with another angel.
Rosary will be held Wednesday, October 28th, 2015, at 6:30
p.m. Mass on Thursday, October 29, at 1:00 p.m. Both will be
held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 790 26 1/2
Road, Grand Junction, CO 81506.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be made
to HopeWest Hospice, 3090B North 12th Street, Grand
Junction, CO 81506.
