Catherine Shiolas, 101, Grand Junction, died Oct. 26, 2015, at
her home. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Interment will be at the Municipal Cemetery.
Ms. Shiolas was a cashier for Public Service Co.
Survivors include one daughter, Pauline Sarantopoulos of
Youngstown, Ohio; and 10 grandchildren.

Catherine A. Shiolas
October 18, 1914 - October 26, 2015
Catherine A. Shiolas, 101, went to be with her Lord on October 26, 2015. She was married to Paul Shiolas in 1935 and was widowed 13 months later.
Catherine has one daughter, Pauline (Costas) Sarantopoulos, who was three months old when her father died. Among other survivors are sons, Athan and John; daughters, Stacy and Alexia, and ten grandchildren. Catherine was a remarkable, independent lady who never remarried. Her Greek Orthodox religion sustained her through many earthly trials.
Catherine had many jobs, including her last one at Public
Service. There are so many accomplishment for Catherine, but the one she was especially proud of was being one of the
founders of the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.
A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 29, at 10:00
a.m. at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 3585 N. 12th
Street, Grand Junction, CO. Visitation will be Wednesday,
October 28, from 6 - 7:00 p.m. and Trisagion at 7:00 p.m. at St. Nicholas. Interment will be in Municipal Cemetery.
