Robert W. Voss, 90, Grand Junction, died Nov. 3, 2015, at
HopeWest and Hospice Care Center. Services are pending.
Mr. Voss was a mechanic for the Boulder School District.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; one son, Paul Douglas
Voss of Boulder; two daughters, Cynthia Ruth Farler of Fruita
and Christine Louise Dunlap of Grand Junction; one sister, Ruth
Simons Vermillion of Lima, Ohio; five grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren;
and one great-great-grandchild.

Robert W. Voss
March 14, 1925 - November 3, 2015
Robert W. Voss was born in
Lima, Ohio, the son of Lulu
and Elmer Voss. He passed
away at HopeWest Hospice on
November 3, 2015, at the age
of 90.
Bob graduated from high
school and immediately went
into the U.S. Navy to serve
during WWII. As a young
man he worked on the Nickel
Plate Railroad, and later was a mechanic for the Lima Cadillac,
Lima Cement Products, and the Boulder Valley School District
in Boulder, Colorado.
He loved fishing, camping, hiking, skiing (water, snow, and
cross-country), model railroading, and his dogs (of which there
were many during his lifetime).
He is survived by his bride of 68 years, Kathleen; three
children, Cynthia (David) Farler, Christine (Donald) Dunlap,
and Paul (Donna) Voss; five grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren,
and his beloved dog, Buddy. He also leaves
behind his sister, Ruth Vermillion, of Lima, Ohio.
A Memorial Service will be held at First United Methodist
Church in Grand Junction on November 19 at 10:00 a.m.,
followed by military honors on November 20 at the Veteran’s
Memorial Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United
Methodist Church (FUMC) of Grand Junction, 522 White
Street, Grand Junction, CO, for the Bob Voss Memorial Fund; or
to HopeWest Hospice, 3090B N. 12th Street, Grand Junction,
CO 81506, in memory of Bob Voss.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend,
who went through life working quietly behind the scenes not for
his glory, but for God’s glory.
