Manford Gregg Eddy
September 15, 1922 - October 24, 2015
Manford Gregg Eddy, age 93, of Clifton passed away peacefully Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Hope West Hospice Care Center.
Born September 15, 1922, in Osawatomie, Kansas, son of the late Denny and Ida Belle (Gregg) Eddy. He grew up in Silt, CO, where he spent his younger years working on a farm.
In 1941, while at a dance, he met the love of his life, Louise
Etenburn. Four years later, they were married on June 2, 1945 in Grand Junction, CO. They just celebrated 70 wonderful years of marriage.
Manford was a talented building contractor who owned his
own business. He built and remodeled many homes all over the grand valley including the one in which he and Louise lived in for the past 55 years. Always hardworking and an excellent
provider, he passed his work ethic and skills down to his
children.
One of his favorite accomplishments was owning and restoring
a 1930 Model A Ford. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing,
camping, and snowmobiling. But most of all he loved to
DANCE!
Manford is survived by his five children, Janice (Paul) Early,
Grand Junction; Kathy (Fred) Nelson, Whitewater; Chuck
(Bernadette) Eddy, Loma; Lana (Billy) Myers, Grand Junction;
Peggy (Darwin) Burford, Fruita; 11 grandchildren, and 12 greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Denny, and also a sister, who died at birth.
A visitation will be at Brown’s Funeral Chapel on Friday,
October 30, from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Graveside services will be held at Orchard Mesa Cemetery on Friday, October 30, at 1:00 p.m.
Donations can be made in Manford’s memory to HopeWest
Hospice.
