Robert Edward Flogaus, Feb. 7, 1915 — March 6, 2016.
Bob was born in Carbondale. His parents, Marjorie Myrtle and John Paul “Jack” Flogaus had a homestead in Marble. After graduating high school, Bob joined his dad in running Flogaus Sawmill, first in Redstone, then in the 1930s in Lenado, where operations continued through 1974.
Bob married Carmen Gene Gooding, raising a daughter and son in Lenado, retiring in McCoy and later in Gypsum. Bob is survived by a daughter, Betty “Bill” Wimmer, of Oxford, Wisconsin; a son, Jay (Carol Gonter) Flogaus, of Gypsum; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a step-brother; a nephew; nieces; and cousins. His wife, Carmen, and sisters Verna, Sally and Molly precede him. Services are at the Gypsum Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 19.
