Oliver Wilson Bartholomew died Nov. 7, 2000, at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins. He was 84.

Oliver was born Aug. 31, 1916, on the Clover Dale Ranch in Routt County to Oliver C. and Mary L. (Wilson) Bartholomew.

He graduated from Steamboat Springs High School in 1936. He married Jimalyn Gourley June 21, 1939 in Steamboat Springs.

Oliver worked the Clover Dale Ranch for 50 years until his retirement in 1980. He also worked for the Soil Conservation Service.

Oliver enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of the Elk Mountain Masonic Lodge for 50 years. He also was a member of the Lions Club, Cattleman's Association, Order of the Eastern Star and the United Methodist Church.

Oliver was a past Rainbow Father and served on the school board for 10 years.

After moving to Loveland in 1990, Oliver was active in the Elks Lodge and the Golden K Kiwanis Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Jimalyn, of Loveland; three sons, Neil of Denver, Leonard of Dallas and James of North Hollywood, Calif.; a daughter, Karen Wardlaw of Colleyville, Texas; a sister, J. Mildred Winget of Loveland; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Oliver was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Gladys Morris.

Funeral services were held Nov. 10 at Galilee Baptist Church in Loveland and Nov. 11 at the United Methodist Church in Steamboat Springs.

Oliver was buried at the Steamboat Springs Cemetery.
