Dora Zambrano-Gomez died November 20, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, CO.
Dora was born April 6, 1958, to Santos and Chila Zambrano in Honduras, where she spent her school years and married Jorge Gomez. Together they moved to New Mexico before living in Glade Park for 13 years, and Grand Junction for the past 12 years.
Dora was always a bright and shining personality to be around. She loved cooking, and made sure to feed every visitor she had. She also loved shopping, embroidering, playing chalupa, and dancing. She was the life of the party, a jokester, and the rock of the family.
She is survived by her husband, Jorge; son, Jorge Gomez, Jr.;
daughters, Vanessa Gomez, and Karina Delgado; mother, Chila Zambrano; brothers, Nicolas Ortiz, Jose Ortiz, and Omar
Zambrano; sisters, Lucila Ortiz, Wendy Contreras, Leticia Dias, Norma Zambrano, and Sonia Ruiz; and five grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at
10:00 a.m. with Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at
Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. Graveside services will follow at Orchard Mesa Cemetery.
