Eugene David Cordova, 66, Grand Junction, died Sept. 23,
2015, at HopeWest Care Center.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Veterans Memorial Cemetery
of Western Colorado.
Mr. Cordova was a plumber and pipefitter.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly; one son, Eric of Grand Junction;
one daughter, Arlinda Alire of Grand Junction; two brothers,
Frank and Charles, both of Grand Junction; and four grandchildren.

Eugene D. Cordova, 66, of
Grand Junction passed away
peacefully Wednesday,
September 23, 2015 after
battling cancer for more than
six months.
He was born December 5,
1948, the son of Charlie and
Floristina "Lucy" Cordova in
Alamosa, CO. At age ten, with his parents and siblings, he
moved to Grand Junction where he grew up.
On December 28, 1968, he married Beverly Sandoval, and
together they raised their children. From 1968-1970 Eugene
served during Vietnam for the U.S Army where he earned
multiple awards and medals including a purple heart before
returning home. He made a career at Grand Junction VA
Medical Center and retired after 33 years. He was a very caring
man who loved and provided for his family.
In his spare time he enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and the
occasional trip to Mesquite, NV for relaxation and gambling. He
also spent a great deal of time caring for his parents before their
passing.
He proved to be a loving son, brother, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Cordova; daughter, Arlinda
Alire (Steve); son, Eric Cordova; brothers, Frank Cordova
(Marcia) and Charles Cordova (Joan); grandchildren, Eric
Valdez, Matthew and Ben Alire, Breeze Cordova, and several
nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by infant son, Michael Cordova; sister,
Carla Gallegos; mother, Floristina Cordova, and father, Charlie
Cordova.
He was a strong man who fought hard and is now at peace and
will be missed by all.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at
Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2830 Riverside Pkwy Grand
Junction, CO, 81501.
