Fred Burl COWDEN, son of Mr. and Mrs. George COWDEN, was born September 24, 1880, one of eight children. He passed away at his home in Palmdale, Calif. May 18, 1955 of a heart attack. Mr. COWDEN had been ill for some time previous to his death.
Services were held at Evan's Perris Chapel May 21 and burial was at Perris Valley Cemetery, Perris, Calif.
Mr. COWDEN came to Eagle in 1902 from Kansas and remained until about 12 years ago when he moved to Missouri before settling in California.
Mr. COWDEN is survived by four sons: John of Edwards; Lewis of Eagle; Burl of Palmdale and Wayne of Ft. Collins; and three daughters: Alice OLESON of Grand Junction; Lucille LEIBER of Eagle and Ethel FESSENDEN of Hawthorne, Calif. A daughter Margaret preceded him in death.
He is also survived by a sister, Mr.s Lucy BLOOM of Vancouver, Wash.; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

FRED COWDEN DIED IN CALIFORNIA.
Word was received here Wednesday of the death of Fred COWDEN in Palmdale, Calif.
Four of his children living in Eagle county left to attend the funeral-Mrs. Alice OLESON, Mrs. Walter LIEBER, Lewis and John COWDEN. Mr. LiEBER and Mrs. Lewis COWDEN also made the trip.
Cause of Mr. COWDEN's death was not known here.
