GLEN [sic Glenn] EDWARD VANSTONE.
Funeral services for Glenn Edward VANSTONE, father of Eagle County Treasurer Mary E. WALKER,were hold at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the I.O.O.F. Hall in Gypsum.
Mr. VANSTONE died Saturday, March 14, at his home at 810 Castle Drive in Eagle. He was 79.
Mr. VANSTONE was born Nov. 28, 1907,in Creston, Ill. the son of Mr. and Mrs. John VANSTONE. He spent his boyhood years in Creston, and moved to Byron, Ill., in 1941. He worked as an automotive mechanic and school bus driver for 17 years in Byron.
Mr. VANSTONE moved to Eagle in 1978, and became an avid supporter of Eagle Valley schools and their athletic teams. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Crater Rebekah Lodge, the Eagle Lions Club, and an honorary member of the county Sheriffs of Colorado.
He married the former Frances Leota CONFER, who receded him in death.
Surviving, in addition to Mrs. WALKER, are a sister-in-law, Dorothy CONFER of Lindenwood, Ill.; five grandchildren, Gracie EHLERT of Grand Junction, Glenn EHLERT and Kindra EHLERT of Eagle, and Lou Anne WALKER and Jo Lynn WALKER of Eagle; and three great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Melanie DOWNS officiated at Wednesday afternoon's funeral services. Burial was at Sunset View Cemetery in Eagle.
