WM. NOTTINGHAM, STEVEN NOTTINGHAM
A joint funeral service for William Randall "Randy" NOTTINGHAM and Stephen [sic] Wayne NOTTINGHAM will be today, March 19, at 10 a.m. at Eagle Community United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Melanie DOWNS will officiate and selected friends of the brothers will speak. A meal will be served immediately after the service for those attending. There will be no graveside service.
The brothers were lifelong residents of Avon. Randy, 35, and Steven, 33, died in an avalanche Sunday, March 15, while snowmobiling.
Randy was born in Glenwood Springs on April 7, 1951. He graduated from Canon Aeronautical College in Cheyenne, Wyo., in 1970. He married Jeanette Lynn BYERS on Dec. 8,1984, in Redding, Calif. He was self-employed in the construction business.
Randy enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling and all outdoor sports. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette, and son, William Travis.
Steven was born Oct. 2, 1953. He attended Mesa College in Grand Junction to study architecture. He married Jennifer Joy NICKERSON on Sept. 28, 1977, in Avon. He was self-employed in the construction business.
Steven was a member of the National Rifle Association, American Sportsman and the National Sheep Federation. He enjoyed big-game hunting in Alaska. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer, and sons, Nathan Scott and Timothy Wayne.
The brothers are also survived by their parents, Neva and William NOTTINGHAM, of Gypsum and sister, Susan ALBERTSON, of Burns.
A memorial fund for the Nottinghams has been established at Vail National Bank and First Bank of Eagle County with proceeds to be donated to the Vail Mountain Rescue Group.
Funeral arrangements are being made by Thomford Mortuary in Idaho Springs.
